Glycerin Soap

Aromatherapy candles can truly make your relaxation regimen flavorful but there is more to relaxation than just mere lighting candles. Aromatherapy soaps can also make that relaxation extra rich. Understandably, the candles and the soaps have risen from just mere ordinary stuffs to delightful pieces of precious items that anyone would love to get hold of.

In the world of soap making for the aesthetic conscious or the health buffs, glycerin soap is the one that really rings a bell. If you are fond with soaps from Neutrogena, the soaps are reportedly to be made from 100% glycerin. Truly the soap is good for your skin but the rising cost of the soap could be hurting your pockets too badly. However there is no need to worry because if you really want to use glycerin soap you can make it by yourself right at your own home. Yes you heard it right, you can make homemade glycerin soap any time you want and as many as you wish.

If you are wondering how to make glycerin soaps, well you need not worry because glycerin soaps are very easy to make. The instructions from the glycerin soap recipe are easy to follow even by the beginners especially if you are following the melt and pour soap making method. Just make sure you are wearing protective gear like goggles and gloves. These gears can protect you from accidents like spills or burn. Moreover they also help to protect the eyes to get in contact with the ingredients.

In making your handmade glycerin based soap you have to assemble the necessary ingredients and materials. For the ingredients you need to prepare glycerin soap for your soap base, essential oil (you can choose your own scent and you can combine different scented oils too), coloring (if not natural, use only cosmetic grade), and soap mold (a candle mold will do). For the materials, you need to prepare double boiler, thermometer, and the stove (preferably electric generated).

In the melt and pour method the first step is to melt the pre-weighed glycerin using the double boiler. With the use of the thermometer check if the temperature of the melted glycerin has gone only up to 155F then remove from the heat. Be careful not to over heat the glycerin because it might become flammable if beyond the indicated temperature.

Continue the stirring while adding in the soap coloring and the essential oils according to the desired amount. Stir the mixture thoroughly, however for an added style and twist different technique in mixing the soap coloring could be employed. Pour in the mixture into the mold and let it stay for half an hour before freezing the soap for another half an hour. After 30 minutes remove it from the freezer and it should be ready after 10 minutes.

Another important reminder in making your own glycerin soaps at home is to make sure that the essential oil does not affect the desired color of the soap, however if its intended then continue. Glycerin can also be melted using a microwave oven, which makes the process a little faster, though you have to check if the labels say so. The measurement of the ingredient should b exact to get the desired finished products.

You will really enjoy soap making in the same way that others have found true joy in candle making.
